New Jersey - Carolina
The devil is in the details and Carolina is doing all the small things that a contender has to do to win a Stanley Cup. So with last night's win, make it 7 in a row for Cam Ward and the Canes. Brind'Amour had over 22 minutes of ice time, over 4 minutes of PK and over 4 minutes of Power Play... add the game winning goal, and no wonder he is the clear leader of this team. However, if there is one team that could come back from a 3-0 deficit it is the New Jersey Devils. Only a team with a goalie like Brodeur could come back.
Ottawa - Buffalo
Wow, wow, wow. Buffalo is going to sweep the Senators tonight and its going to be ugly in O-town. Muckler will be forced to re-evaluate the core of this team, which just can't seem to win in the post season. Alfredson and Redden are at the top of the list of players that the Sens will have to take a real good look at and ask themselves, is it time to move on? Buffalo on the other hand is having one player after the other step up and make huge plays. Last night was Hecht's turn. What a game he had with over 20 minutes of ice time. For a guy that just game back from injury, his performance lifted the Sabres and their fans last night.
San Jose - Oilers
When you have 23 more shots than the opposition, you are bound to win the game. This is the Oilers team that showed up against Detroit. This "come from behind" victory will definitely put some wind in the Oiler sails but for how long? Up until late in the 3rd, the Sharks were winning and the Oilers looked like they were poised for a 3-0 hole. No need to say that the next game is a big one. I still predict Sharks in 5.
