NHL Hockey Second round

Well, they're off! The new NHL wanted more goals and it is getting them. 13 goals during the Sens-Sabres game, 6 goals in the Hurricane-Devils series, So far 8 goals in two games for the Ducks-Avs series. The only series that started off close is the one that many would have expected to be high scoring.

Avs-Ducks

Great start for the Ducks. Riding a hot goalie is what its all about during the playoffs and the Ducks are doing just that. The Avs should bounce back and tie this one up though. Bryzgalov is a rookie and you just can't keep that much offense off the board.

Sharks - Oilers

Dominant start for Joe Thornton. While Pronger is busy keeping the big guy off the scoreboard, Patrick Marleau is left alone to dominate in his own way. Look for this to happen all the way to the Cup Finals.

Sens - Sabres

Wow, a healthy Hasek would be a welcomed event in Ottawa. To score 6 goals and lose a game has to be devastating. Buffalo is looking like they are playing with fire in their eyes. I still pick them in 7.

Devils - Hurricanes

Marty...where are you? The Devils have to start shooting the puck alot more if they plan on winning here. The Hurricanes' D are not that good and Cam Ward, while playing excellent, is still a rookie and the Devils should be able to get to him with the offense they have.

Jack Johnson, "King of Hockey".
